Congratulations Madison McGuire!

Madison first joined the Institute as an intern in 2021, through Dell Medical School’s Health Leadership Apprentice Program and completed her internship in the fall of 2023. While at the Institute, Madison enjoyed working on several projects, including a collaborative study with the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) conducting interviews with military and veteran families across Texas to assist with a report identifying the causal factors of food insecurity. As the daughter of an Army Veteran who grew up in Fort Cavazos, it was rewarding for Madison to provide these families with local resources. This research opportunity inspired her to advocate for meaningful change by taking action against systemic challenges to improve health equity.
