The Institute conducts innovative research, develops and tests programs, and shares proven practices that strengthen military and veteran families nationwide. Our work spans three core areas: research, training and education, and community engagement.
Highlights
This curriculum-based, peer support group program connects military spouses and committed partners at Fort Hood through meaningful discussion and shared experiences. Guided by peer leaders, this 8-week program creates space for participants to explore wellness topics relevant to military life. This study examines how participation in a peer support group impacts quality of life and mental health outcomes for military spouses. Data collection will conclude in 2025, with results and insights to be shared in early 2026.
This first-of-its-kind study examines the health and wellness of military and veteran spouses across eight dimensions to identify critical support gaps and inform the development of targeted resources and programs.
The Veteran Spouse Network (VSN) empowers military and veteran families through free, proven support programs that foster community connection, build practical wellness strategies, and help families thrive through every challenge and transition.
