Katherine Gower received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Vermont, and her Master of Social Work from Texas State University. In May of 2022 she graduated with her Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Georgia. Throughout her career, Katherine has been motivated by a passion for learning, a commitment to advancing knowledge, and fostering positive change. From April 2021 to July 2022, Katherine worked on a variety of community-based public health research and evaluation projects with the Morehouse School of Medicine. In 2023, as a Research Support Specialist at the University of Georgia, Katherine supported the research team evaluating the personal financial readiness program for members of the US Air Force.
Katherine’s research interests include dialogue, conflict resolution, military and veteran family wellness, and community-based research. Her work has been accepted for presentation at conferences including the Society for Social Work and Research, the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry, and the Council on Social Work Education. Her work has also been published in academic publications including Conflict Resolution Quarterly and Violence and Victims.
